Meta Connect 2026: My Impressions of the Presentation
On the evening of September 23, 2026, Meta held its annual Meta Connect presentation. Mark Zuckerberg talked about several new features.
He showed a new generation of AI Glasses with a fresh design, as well as brand-new VR Glasses: the VR headset has now shrunk to the size of regular glasses. Logically, this is a device Apple should have released. But the company lost this tech race many years ago.

Meta also showed an AI assistant, but personally I have no use for it: I still don’t understand how I could use it in my life. There’s also a version of it in the form of a Tamagotchi-style keychain. What I really liked, though, were the updated glasses. This time there are several models at once.
The New Design of Meta AI Glasses
Unfortunately, just a few days ago I ordered the second-generation glasses. And now Mark has unveiled the next generation along with several new designs: from classic Ray-Bans to collaborations with bloggers.
I don’t understand why they released Clubmaster glasses without a camera, with only an AI assistant. What’s the point? I don’t get it.
I’m not sure about the Adventurer: I tried on every version, and they look dumb on me. The classic Ray-Ban Wayfarers, on the other hand, fit perfectly.
Meta VR Glasses
The big update that truly amazed me is Meta VR Glasses. The bulky headset has turned into lightweight glasses, and that’s a huge breakthrough for the whole industry.
I’ve been using VR headsets for about five years: I started with the Oculus, and now I have a Meta Quest Pro. And now a device like this has become so small that it fits in a regular glasses case. That’s incredibly cool!
Now you can take them anywhere: work on several virtual screens at once or watch movies while traveling.
You’ll be able to turn any surface into a virtual keyboard. According to Mark, typing speed won’t suffer. Well, we’ll see!
And during calls, you’ll be able to see the other person as a hologram: your buddy will appear right in front of you, full height.
Meta VR Glasses are expected to go on sale in spring 2027 for $1,299, and I’m already ready to buy them.
